Misty Miotto is a world renowned award winning wedding photographer based out of beautiful Orlando, FL… She comes very well respected in the wedding community, not only for her expansive history, publications, and skill sets in wedding industry and chapter leadership, but also because of her amazing heart for the hurting and giving back…
Here’s a few non-profits Misty runs and/or participates in regularly:
The Heart Gallery of Orlando (http://www.heartgallerycfl.
The Heart Gallery of Orlando goal is to find forever homes for many of Orlando’s children that are in foster care or group homes. Many of these children have been available for adoption for many years and have suffered much loss in their lives. The Heart Gallery hopes to change some of their misfortune by partnering with several professional photographers in their area. The photographers take pictures of these children so they may be able to capture the children’s true “essence” and hopefully aid them in finding a permanent home.
Help Portrait Orlando (http://help-portrait.com/)
Help-Portrait is a community of photographers who come together across the world to use their photography skills to give back to their local community. On or around December of every year, these photographers grab their cameras and find people in need and take their picture. When the prints are ready, the photographs get delivered! We run the Orlando group along some amazing other photographers.
Butterflies and Blue Jays (http://www.
Founded by Misty Miotto, Butterflies and Bluejays was created for the sole purpose of elevating and empowering young children who have experienced adversity in their lives. The program is a carefully constructed 24 class curriculum based on core values and principles. Our mission is to change these children’s lives by showing them how to break the chains of their past and create their own futures.
Thirst Relief International (http://thirstrelief.org/)
Thirst Relief International was founded by fellow Christian photographer and friend of mine, Jim Davis. His vision and purpose has literally saved so many lives and I can honestly say he is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. Please take a minute to read how Thirst Relief is saving lives every day in many countries all over the world and see how you can literally save a life with just a one time $5 donation.
Coalition for the Homeless (http://www.
The Coalition is able to help nearly 600 people each day, including men, women and children. As one of the few emergency shelters that accept intact families in Central Florida, we see a large number of families in need of shelter and support. On any given night, the Coalition provides services to nearly 200 children, with an average age of six years old. Last year, the Coalition served nearly 300,000 meals.
Wish Upon a Wedding (http://wishuponawedding.org/)
Wish Upon a Wedding is the world’s first nonprofit wish granting organization providing weddings and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness and serious life-altering circumstances regardless of sexual orientation. Our organization offers couples a chance to enjoy a very special day, without any thoughts of existing health or other serious issues, while surrounded by their closest friends and family.
