Sustainably Stylized Inspiration Shoot: Farm to (Wedding) Table, Washington, D.C.

There is no better feeling than receiving an inspiration shoot submission that truly understands the heart and soul behind Black Sheep Bride (encouraging local, charitable, and sustainable wedding planning practices.) Pollyanna Events reached out to us with this amazing sustainably stylized shoot, devoted to locally grown and the available beautiful things (often taken for granted) that surrounded the vendor team on a hyper-local level. Here’s what she had to say about the vision behind this shoot and take a peek at how colorfully, vibrant and bright it all turned out!

‘This styled shoot was born out of an everyday love for fields and flowers, the deep rich colors of nature and the delicious, bountiful harvest that blooms with summer. The idea of this shoot was that anyone, especially those that love to garden, could create a beautiful wedding using the natural beauty of the things they grow in their backyard. Working with an amazing group of vendors, we created a styled wedding experience that incorporated the fun, energetic spirit of a whimsical bride while complimenting the beauty of nature’s design. We carefully collected lots of elements from nature, as well as sifted through our homes, and collectively came up with a fabulous styled shoot that hopefully inspires and educates others on focusing on the things that are right in front of you to celebrate such a special event in your life.’ View More: http://graykammera.pass.us/farmstyled1200pxView More: http://graykammera.pass.us/farmstyled1200pxView More: http://graykammera.pass.us/farmstyled1200px
‘This inspired wedding was deep with florals. All arrangements included flowers or vegetables grown directly on the property, but could have just as easily been grown in someone else’s garden. The bride wore a minimalistic floral crown incorporating small white pepper flowers from the garden. The bouquet and sweetheart table used all flowers directly from the farm, highlighting the zinnias and celosias that set the backdrop for the day. The table garland was a mix of farm-fresh flowers and organic produce such as mini-eggplants, peppers and melons that were being grown just a few feet away from the table.’ Blog 1200px-0063 View More: http://graykammera.pass.us/farmstyled1200pxView More: http://graykammera.pass.us/farmstyled1200px Blog 1200px-0006
‘Several aspects were DIY projects. Many of the settings for the table were cobbled together from favorite and easily accessible kitchen items, including the heirloom silver tray passed down through four generations that served as the dessert centerpiece. The wedding favors were a labor of love that included a collection of vegetables and homegrown and homemade canned goods.’

The farm is rich in natural color and beauty. The organic farm produces vegetables and flowers most of the year and has a respectful relationship with mother nature to maintain a healthy, sustainable farm. It is in this setting that one feels the freedom to relax and relish the moments of love, for here, all seems right in the world.’Blog 1200px-0029 View More: http://graykammera.pass.us/farmstyled1200px Blog 1200px-0031 View More: http://graykammera.pass.us/farmstyled1200px Blog 1200px-0050 View More: http://graykammera.pass.us/farmstyled1200px View More: http://graykammera.pass.us/farmstyled1200px   View More: http://graykammera.pass.us/farmstyled1200px View More: http://graykammera.pass.us/farmstyled1200px View More: http://graykammera.pass.us/farmstyled1200px  Blog 1200px-0068   Blog 1200px-0073 View More: http://graykammera.pass.us/farmstyled1200px   Blog 1200px-0083 View More: http://graykammera.pass.us/farmstyled1200px View More: http://graykammera.pass.us/farmstyled1200px

Stylishly Sustainable Wedding Inspiration – Houston, Texas

When our BSB Vendor, Smith House Photo, submitted this Sustainable Stylized Wedding Inspiration Shoot we were awe-stuck by the dainty, industrial, organic softness that came with such a big message: You don’t have to sacrifice beauty and details to have a sustainable wedding! Here is what she shared with us about their vision:  ‘Our goal in planning this inspiration shoot was to encompass all that Black Sheep Bride stands for: Gorgeous weddings that support and give back in the community. We wanted to show that simply by selecting vendors who GIVE BACK, your wedding day can make a huge impact.’   2015-06-13_0001 2015-06-13_0002 2015-06-13_00112015-06-13_0012 2015-06-13_0003 2015-06-13_0004 2015-06-13_0005 2015-06-13_0006 2015-06-13_0007 2015-06-13_0008 2015-06-13_0009 2015-06-13_0010 2015-06-13_0013 2015-06-13_0014 2015-06-13_0015 2015-06-13_0016 2015-06-13_0017 2015-06-13_0018 2015-06-13_0019 2015-06-13_0020   Participating Black Sheep Bride #VendorsThatGiveBack : Celia Grace Wedding Dresses We were so excited to include Celia Grace for our bridal gowns and we couldn’t possibly describe her business better than the designer does herself on the Celia Grace Website , “Each Celia Grace wedding dress is exquisitely handcrafted using vintage-inspired lace, exclusive hand woven silks, and stunning beading and detail work. Celia Grace wedding dresses are made in safe, fair, and empowering Fair Trade conditions and we give back locally with each dress sold.
