Real Wedding that Gives Back: Erin & Kevin, Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA

One of our newest Black Sheep Bride vendors,  ‘Cause We Can Events, recently shared this Real Wedding submission with us and we couldn’t wait to share the Botanical Goodness of this wedding day! Not only did the couple invest in a non-profit venue, South Coast Botanic Garden , they also used aromatic/multi-purposed herbs instead of traditional floral centerpieces, and reusable mason jugs as gifts/drink containers throughout the night, to help keep unwanted waste at a minimum. On top of all of that, the groom is a musician and has a heart for young talent, so they hired a few local high school music students to play a little jazz during their cocktail to help support their efforts!

Real Weddings that Give Back: Alyssa + Matt, Connecticut

Truth or Dare? (For the sake of this example, you are going to pick ‘Dare’)
We ‘Double Dog Dare’ You to Give Back on your Wedding Day, like Alyssa and Matt did! (See what we did there?—> We’re funny, huh?)
Not only did they skip the wedding favors and opted to donate to their local MSPCA Shelter. They also incorporated some amazing vendors with hearts that give back, like our very own BSB Vendor, Makeup Artistry by Liz! On top of that, the bride lives a pretty charitable life giving back, most recently leading her team, as the captain, for Cycle for Survival Race, which helps fund cancer research and treatment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
They also incorporated sentimental and upcycled items into their wedding day theme, such as her parents wedding day cake cutters.
And just take a peek at the rest of their amazing day, with all these classical and clean details sprinkled throughout their charitable intentions.

Taking inspiration from the cherished childhood story, Where the Wild Things Are, this vendor team couldn’t have put together a better wedding interpretation. From the moss table runner, to the wild flower fields and the branch crown, we are simply overflowing with delight! The even best part about this shoot, is how are large portion of the vendor team gives back and uses these products, skills/services, design elements to help others. They are committed to making the environment as beautiful as possible, not only by filling it with plants and flowers, but also by preserving it for future generations of flower lovers! They recycle, compost, and use the most sustainably farmed flowers they can find, from as many local sources as they can! They use a local grower in Arvada, Colorado for many of their flowers. Their greenhouses allow us to get the freshest, most ecologically friendly product available in Denver! Aside from their sustainable practices, they also educate and encourage their brides to donate their leftover flowers and offer delivery to the hospital nearby (St Joes). __Elizabeth_Cryan_Photography_25ecryanphotography1805 Ashley Schenkein Jewelry works closely with a Denver-based charity, Women’s Bean Project, collaborating on a collection that is sold exclusively by the charity to offer job skills and support to women in need.
